Oven baked plantain with sesame seed

  • 4-5 pcs plantain
  • salt
  • sesame seed
  • garlic powder

 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 F.
  • Place a baking rack on the table and cover with a baking paper.
  • Peel and slice the plantain.
  • Spread the plantain slices on the baking paper.
  • Thinly sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, sesame seed.
  • Put it into the warm oven for approx 20 minutes. Keep checking it after 17 minutes. You can see from the colour when it's done.

I used very ripe plantain this time, they were nearly black on the skin. That's why it's so yellowish. It has a higher fluid content, so it has to be baked a bit a longer to dry it a bit.

The green plantain needs the least amount of baking time. If you bake it too long, then it gets too crunchy.

Yellow plantain need a time in between green and black plantain.

You can eat it with guacamole, hummus, veggie dips or as a side dish for meats and salads.
